NZ made from 100% untreated, sustainable heart pine | Certifiably responsibly grown in Northland, New Zealand

  • Made from dehydrated pine from the highest density pine forests in Northland NZ (>475kg/m3), with a low moisture content (<7.5%) - physical properties that give HERDD superior absorbency.

    Effectively soak up urine, watch HERDD clump around moisture when fully saturated, & disguise ammonia odours with its natural pine oils.

  • Convenient to fill a stall from empty with oversized 22kg bags that expand ~4x in volume.

    Simple to top-up, less frequently - we recommend 1 bag/fortnight to replenish what has been taken out.

  • With equal parts water added, each bag of HERDD expands to multiples of its dry state (~4x), providing more, long lasting bedding.

    There is more bedding in a HERDD bag than a 19kg shavings bale! (that’s economical!)

  • Unsoiled bedding is long lasting for 12 months or more (with good stable management & ventilation)

  • HERDD's innate charateristics are suited to making animals with sensitive airways, comfortable.

    HERDD is low dust with a low moisture content (dehydrated), so it is excellent for those horses' that NEED a DRY & LOW DUST rest environment to help with respiratory conditions 🤧

    HERDD is able to be used UNactivated (like a litter) straight out of the bag, if required.

  • Less wastage

    I also love HERDD bedding because there is less wastage i.e. when I muck out the stable I’m not wasting as much as shavings, as HERDD is smaller it sifts through my rake more easily ❤️

  • It's a no brainer

    People had told me HERDD bedding is more expensive than shavings, but I can tell you it’s not. Over the long term, it’s so much easier to muck out & we use way less, so I buy less bedding than I used too.

    The box looks like a normal horse's (i.e. not a total mess) & he is even lying down! [as he hasn't been]

  • I have just moved to HERDD… and LOVE it!

    Had previously done the “cheaper and it’s the same” on the mitre10 one but ahhh no! The fuel pellets have a suspiciously toxic smell about them. HERDD is far superior & actually provides a deeper bed as bigger, so expands more. [With] the bigger bag it is only marginally more per stable. Will def be sticking with them 🦄💜🦄

    I’ve started using HERDD bedding & it makes mucking out very quick & easy, like picking up crumbed nuggets. I was also surprised by how much it fluffed up & with being able to top up a little at a time makes it so easy

    Not only is it a fantastic bedding for your stable, it also works really well in your truck or trailer absorbing any mess along the way as well as giving the horses some cushioning on the long trips. I love it because it is low dust & has far less waste than any other products I’ve used.
